Assistant Field Hockey Coach

Job Summary

The Assistant Coach will be responsible for on-field coaching of the Field hockey program, team travel, equipment, community outreach, program promotion and social media. Specific responsibilities to be assigned under the direction of the Head Field Hockey Coach.

Essential Functions

  • Assists in the teaching, coaching, training, and motivating the program's student-athletes to perform at the highest level through organized and individual team sessions.
  • Helps foster an environment within the program that supports the Department's mission of personal growth and integrity, diversity, leadership, sportsmanship, respect, and a commitment to academic and athletic excellence.
  • Knows and abides by NCAA, CAA and University rules and regulations. 
  • Responsible for team travel/planning, accommodations, coordination with transportation, team meal reservations and food orders.
  • Manages the operations of the program's prospect days, camps, clinics and club tournaments.
  • Assists with video analysis for scouting and post games.
  • Communicates frequently with facilities and/or operations staff.
  • Acts a liaison to Equipment Operations staff.
  • Responsible for equipment and assist with order/purchases.
  • Assists with social media and program outreach, fundraising and external communications.
  • Assists with all recruiting events, videos, packets, Arms database management, recruit visits.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
  • Minimum of 2 years of coaching experience: High School, Club, Collegiate or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational, communication and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to travel domestically.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Collegiate playing experience.
  • Level 2 coaching certificate.

  • Lifting demands ≤ 50lbs
