Job Summary

The Community Tester is a self-motivated individual who will be performing COVID-19 testing in the Philadelphia community and performing outreach to let the community know about the availability of testing. Additional responsibilities include participation in trainings and educating the community about COVID19.

Essential Functions

  • Performs COVID19 testing via nasopharyngeal swab or saliva testing
  • Conducts outreach and education to vulnerable populations
  • Represents organization at community and faith-based events and activities
  • Builds and maintains positive working relationships with community partners
  • Registers patients and documents patient information and COVID19 test results in Redcap and EPIC
  • Completes patient care responsibilities which may include (not an all-inclusive list): organize patient flow, escort patients to rooms, assist as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc. complete patient history, assists with various procedures, charts, provides information to patients and families and provides patient and family with appropriate information
  • Motivates patients to be active, and engaged participants in their health
  • Conducts outreach in the community to promote COVID19 testing services
  • Ability to travel (car, walk or public transportation) to other community locations
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 Years of Experience
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in mainstream software applications (i.e. Microsoft Word)
  • Ability to pass EPIC training
  • Ability to drive and has a car to be able to get to community testing site
  • Ability to adapt and work efficiently within a variety of situations
