Job Summary

Under direct supervision from the principal investigator, the individual will be responsible for basic handling of rodents, feeding and watering of animals. Individuals will also prepare and inject experimental drugs, conduct rodent surgeries, set up and execute behavioral and neurochemical experiments, update, and maintain data spreadsheets, and order and maintain lab supplies and equipment. Procedures and techniques will be outlined in detail with the employee exercising moderate discretion and independent judgment in completing assigned tasks.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare and inject experimental drugs
  • Maintain animal colony
  • Organizing experimental data and spreadsheets 
  • Execute behavioral testing
  • Conduct rodent surgeries 
  • Assist in neurochemical testing
  • Liaison for ordering supplies

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience, Biology, or Related Fields
  • 6 months of research Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidate should have some experience working with rodent brain tissue and should commit to at least 1 year
