Job Summary

The College of Nursing and Health Professions is seeking a Grant Administrator to manage pre-award proposal development and post-award project administration from award setup to close out for faculty engaged in extramural research.  This position reports to the Director of Grants Administration for CNHP.

Essential Functions

Pre-Award responsibilities include:

  • Managing the proposal development process with principal investigators, subrecipient institutions, and other administrators to meet internal and external deadlines
  • Coordinating proposal development meetings with PIs and their staff to discuss the funding opportunity requirements, assign duties, and prepare project-specific budgets
  • Advising researchers on funding opportunity requirements, as well as fiscal, administrative, and compliance policies and procedures
  • Entering proposals into Drexel’s system of record (Coeus) and sponsor portals (e.g., ASSIST, Workspace,, ProposalCentral) in advance of internal and external deadlines
  • Routing proposals to ORI for institutional review, authorization, and submission.

Post-Award responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support for sponsored projects including award setup, budget modifications, purchase requisitions, subawards, salary allocations, and reporting
  • Monitoring fund expenditures to ensure expenses are properly charged, adhere to award terms and conditions, and are within budget limits and timelines
  • Managing oversight of subrecipients, including invoicing and contract amendments. Preparing financial projection reports
  • Notifying PIs about noteworthy changes in spending patterns or funding status. Maintaining oversight of personnel effort and labor allocation
  • Submitting timely payroll changes for faculty and staff to CNHP finance department. Working with ORI to close out sponsored projects per award requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a research administration environment with exposure to both pre- and post-award administration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to create multiyear budgets using excel or other financial software.
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment and take ownership of position responsibilities.
