About the Program

The Graphic Design program provides a balance of theory and practice in rigorous design study enhanced by general education coursework in the humanities, art history, and the physical and social sciences. Students learn to conceptualize, visualize, and realize visual communications through the rigor of project-based exploration and experimentation based on the formal foundations of typography, image-making, storytelling, aesthetics, and critical thinking. The curriculum enables students to develop a sophisticated approach to creative problem-solving and analysis; to effectively communicate through excellence in typography and image-making; and to have an immersion in all aspects of visual communication and experience: brand identity, dynamic and time-based media environments, data visualization and experiential and spatial design.

Students acquire an ease and fluency working within and between dynamic digital and two- and three-dimensional media.
