Job Summary

The Benefits Data, Compliance and Project Analyst leads and is responsible for the administration, data integrity and compliance of benefits systems and projects. This position partners with internal/external colleagues to ensure that Benefits data is set up and operating properly in the HRIS system and in our vendor partner systems. The Benefits Data, Compliance and Project Analyst is the data and system lead for all benefits projects. This position is responsible for ensuring that benefits data in Banner and external vendor platforms are set up in compliance with the Plan documents and regulatory requirements. This position also serves as a point-of-contact, performs all benefits systems maintenance, and ensures data integrity, tests system changes, and analyzes data for process and employee experience improvement opportunities. The Benefits Data, Compliance and Project Analyst supports upgrades, testing, new implementations, and other technical projects as assigned

Essential Functions

Benefits Systems and Data:

  • Lead the setup, integration and ongoing monitoring of Health and Welfare, Retirement (403b and 457b), Wellness, Key Card, and Leave of Absence external provider platforms to Banner. Manage eligibility and enrollment. Ensure codes are properly set up. Trouble shoots and resolves issues.
  • Lead Benefit system maintenance including review, testing and implementation of system upgrades, and/or patches. Lead testing and partner/communicate with appropriate internal and external parties.
  • Manage the flow of reporting to and from all Benefits vendors. Resolve within payroll timeframe the fallout and errors each payroll period that comes from vendor payroll feedback reports.
  • Serve as lead and technical point of contact for Drexel Benefits for internal and external day to day issues and projects. Partner collaboratively with internal partners in Payroll, IT, HRIS and Benefits team members. Direct and manage external vendor technical leads and partners.

Project Management:

  • Project Design and Lead all benefit platform projects – ongoing/annual and implementations, redesigns, conversions, etc. Schedule, monitor and evaluate Benefit vendor platform initiatives to ensure business solutions are implemented. Develop project plans for the systems piece. Identify and resolve project issues and manage risks.
  • Lead meetings to discuss data and ability to manage projects and team members across HR functions and with external partners. Invite and manage appropriate internal and external parties to a successful outcome
  • Lead the Annual True Up and Non-Discrimination Testing each year for the Retirement Plans
  • Lead the Open Enrollment Plan’s Benefit System and Rates Workstream each year. Develop systems project plan, own the rate changes, audits and updates, lead testing and ensure smooth benefit category and payroll code turnover each year
  • Surface issue/solutions and participate in various process and system improvement projects for all Benefit categories

Audit and Compliance

  • Audit various Benefit system data with Banner on a regular basis, resolve issues and bring forward process improvement solutions that arise out of audits.
  • Ensure Banner and vendor systems compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and any other Privacy regulations and are set up according to the Benefit Plan Documents
  • Analyze, audit, and process all health and welfare, retirement, wellness benefit data. Work with the Benefits department and vendors to ensure that employee benefits are set up correctly. Work with IT to add, modify and correct benefits set up in the payroll system.

Other Duties:

  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of the Septa Keycard Administration
  • Serve as backup for payroll reporting for the Leave of Absence function
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 -7 years of related experience.
  • Prior experience with HRIS, Data Analytics, IT, Employee Benefits and Project Management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, solve problems, act with discretion, and always maintain professional demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to prioritize and work effectively in a challenging environment
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook, and database management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of staff including administration, faculty, staff, and students
  • Sound judgment and ability to deal effectively with matters of a highly visible and confidential nature
  • High degree of professionalism, initiative, integrity, urgency, and motivation
  • An understanding of the interrelationships of data on multiple systems and for various applications and the ability to quickly learn and apply new skills is essential
  • Ability to work collaboratively internally and externally
