Job Summary

The Research Project Manager position is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operations of an NIH-funded randomized clinical trial (WeCareAdvisor Study). The primary responsibilities include overseeing all recruitment initiatives, supervising interviewers and interventionists, managing data entry (e.g., missing data, generating data table displays), developing and implementing workflows, back-up systems and other structures and processes to assure a smooth operation for this trial. Additionally, the Research Project Manager coordinates project meetings with the Scientific Officer, trial investigators and project staff.  They work closely with the Drexel principal investigator and may be involved in other projects as needed to provide recruitment, managerial, and/or analytic support.   This position is grant funded and support for this position and its continuation is dependent upon receiving grant awards.

Essential Functions

  • Recruitment, Interviews, and Interventions:
    • Develop a recruitment network, and overseeing and working closely with project staff to accomplish recruitment and enrollment goals
    • Develop and implement system to track screenings, interviews, trainings, and oversee fidelity monitoring by project staff
    • Implement retention strategies (e.g., newsletters to study participants; follow up with study participants who score depressed)
    • Work with vendors in modification and maintenance of the online platform.
  • Oversite & Reporting:
    • Collaborate with leadership team to provide course corrections to trial design
    • Update continuously manual of procedures and Q by Q for study team
    • Assure for the smooth operation of the trial
    • Ensure compliance for IRB and human subject research regulations
    • Performs and oversees a variety of internal, external and ad hoc reports
    • Stay current and willing to learn new technology systems and analytic skills
    • Develop and implement systems to order, manage, and report on participant gift card compensation
  • Administration & Leadership:
    • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with leadership and stakeholder teams
    • Acquire and supervise student workers
    • Hire, train, and supervise team of interviewers and interventionists
    • Mentor Senior Project Coordinator, student workers, and any team members willing to learn
    • Coordinate and lead recruitment, interviewer, and interventionist meetings
    • Assist with budgetary review and reconciliation of grant funds
    • Approve time sheets for research assistants
  • Data Management
    • Manage data in REDCap, including creation of data integrity system and quality control measures
    • Generate table displays weekly for recruitment reports
    • Generate reports for Scientific officer, IRB progress reports and NIH progress reports
    • Develop system workflows for collecting, cleaning and storing data
    • Utilize data collection and analytical softwares (REDCap, MySQL, Airtable, ArcGIS, SAS, etc.)
    •  Set up and monitor databases, develop queries, reports and reporting processes
    • Extract, analyze, describe and visualize data for stakeholders, manuscripts, and presentations
  • Manuscript & Grant Writing:
    • Lead and collaborate with other researchers to write and edit manuscripts/presentations
    • Assist PI with additional grant searching and writing efforts
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or Equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with federally funded research projects
  • Able to work with and lead teams
  • Experience with scientific writing

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD preferred
  • Some supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of REDCap, SAS, Airtable

Physical Demands

  • Typically sitting at a desk/table
