Job Summary

This position is responsible for the development of new revenue streams that support the overall mission of the Department of Athletics, inclusive of oversight of athletic ticket office sales and operations.

Priority on new revenue streams that will extend the athletics brand, improve operations, enhance the game experience, and build community outreach through business development opportunities. 

The position will set strategic goals, grow the season ticket holder bases, and manage accounts (Men’s & Women’s Basketball, Wrestling, and Men's Lacrosse) as well as serve as the point of contact for the department’s ticketing platform and box office.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare annual budget for expected revenue from all facility rentals.
  • Works in conjunction with the Athletics Business Office on revenue projections & forecasting for both long-term and short-term strategic budgeting.
  • Work with the business office to reconcile all expenses and ensure all services are accounted for in the correct cost center.
  • Implement procedures for all camp/clinic requests, which includes submission deadlines, staffing requirements, completion of necessary paperwork, and the department approval process.
  • Ensure all minor registration forms are completed and submitted in a timely manner for all camps, clinics, and events that would have participation of minors.
  • Work with the University’s Minors Coordinator and the office of Human Resources to ensure the department is fully compliant with the University’s Policy concerning background checks, clearances of protection of minors, and mandated reporting of child abuse training.
  • Evaluate and update facility rental fees on an annual basis.
  • Identify potential University and external partners that could be revenue-generating opportunities for the Department.
  • Create sales strategy for all athletic competition and event ticket sales including group and season ticket packages, as well as suites.
  • Create and execute strategies to maximize ticket sales to local community groups and youth organizations.
  • Manage Box Office operations, pricing, staff and sales for all home athletic events.
  • Train and manage ticket operations student staff.
  • Provide management of the website’s ticketing platform; Serve as the main point of contact to ticketing partner.
  • Provide responses and price estimates for all external and campus facility rental inquiries.
  • Prepare facility use agreements for all external rentals, which would include rental fees, staffing and university costs, payment schedule, user responsibilities, and insurance requirements.
  • Work directly with the offices of risk management and general counsel to sort through any questions related to contract language and insurance requirements.
  • Prepare timelines, agendas, and checklists to support events from conception to completion.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with business development strategies and/or athletic ticketing operations.
  • Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and mail merges; email and web searches.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading, and speaking.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend events as needed.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree and 5 years of experience.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
