Job Summary

The adjunct faculty member will foster student learning and discussions, encourage active learning in all students, maintain proper course-related records, and evaluate student work and provide students with feedback as to the progress toward meeting the objectives of the course. Each adjunct faculty member is responsible for effectively teaching students in the assigned classroom.  Each adjunct faculty member is responsible for effectively implementing the mission of the program. Responsibilities may include teaching days or evenings, with the potential for online only, in-person only, or a combination of both.

Winter (Monday, January 6 - Saturday, March 22)

Spring (Monday, March 31st - Saturday, June 19, 2025)

Essential Functions

  • Teach required number of credit hours per semester based on their contract
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills related to teaching methodology, curriculum development and evaluation.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum as needed.
  • Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes.
  • Schedule office hours for student consultation, or at least be available by appointment.
  • Maintain communication with the language lead and/or department head regarding any course or student issues.
  • Perform other similar duties as assigned.

 Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Language teaching, or related field.
  • One year of teaching or professional experience, including teaching as a graduate student.

The Department of Global Studies and Modern Languages at Drexel University is seeking a Spanish Adjunct to teach MW 10:00-11:50 AM and MW 12:00-1:50 PM.

The successful candidate will hold at least a Master’s degree in Spanish and will be intimately familiar with current trends in language-learning pedagogies.
