Job Summary 

The Drexel Partnership Comprehensive Care Practice provides expert primary and specialty healthcare for patients living with HIV. As one of the largest comprehensive HIV primary care practices in the region, the Partnership provides men and women access to a full range of services to meet their medical and emotional needs – regardless of ability to pay.

Essential Functions 

50%

Working under the direct supervision of the practice’s clinical manager, employee will interact and care for patients seen in the clinic setting.  Employee serves as a member of the care team and supports patient care delivery by performing relevant medical tasks including:

  • Collecting vital signs
  • Prepping and cleaning examine rooms
  • Phlebotomy
  • Preparing laboratory specimens; performing laboratory tests on the premises
  • Instrument sterilization
  • Accurately recording patient information in accordance with EMR documentation guidelines
  • Performing EKGs and other minor diagnostics/treatments
  • Administering injections, vaccines, and routine immunizations, 
  • Assisting health care providers during examinations

  • Disposing of contaminated supplies
  • Sterilizing medical instruments
  • Prior authorizations for radiologic studies
  • Schedule patient appointments in accordance with EMR scheduling guidelines.

20%

  • Works in partnership with clinic team members to ensure patients healthcare needs are being met
  • Maintains patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines 
  • Maintains medical supply inventory for clinic; keeps patient rooms stocked with supplies as appropriate; ensures expired products are disposed of properly
  • Quality control testing
  • All other duties as assigned by leader

 Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of Vocational or Technical School Degree.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in related field.
  • Valid registration/certification as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in the State of Pennsylvania or LPN.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong phlebotomy/venipuncture skills a must 
  • Experience in urgent care or emergent care a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively with providers and others to resolve issues
  • Ability to demonstrate reliability and responsiveness to patients, families and co-workers
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

  • Typically standing, walking.

Additional Information 

This position is classified as nonexempt grade H. Compensation for this grade ranges from $ 17.14 to  $25.71 per hour. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
