Job Summary

The Research Interventionist will play a key role in a federally funded study testing the feasibility of an online mindfulness-based dance/movement therapy (M-DMT) intervention for dementia caregivers. The interventionist will be responsible for facilitating weekly online sessions, collaborating on treatment refinement, and contributing to the dissemination of study findings. This role requires expertise in mindfulness-based and movement-based therapeutic approaches, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a research setting.

Essential Functions

  • Lead weekly online group sessions for dementia caregivers following the M-DMT intervention protocol.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging virtual environment for participants.
  • Attend regular meetings with the Principal Investigator (PI) and research team to discuss study progress, challenges, and protocol adherence.
  • Assist in ensuring fidelity to the treatment manual, contributing to protocol refinements based on research insights.
  • Collaborate with the research team to implement strategies for participant retention.
  • Ensure compliance with research ethics, confidentiality protocols, and IRB guidelines. 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of Master's Degree in Dance/Movement Therapy.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience. 
  • Certification or substantial experience in mindfulness-based approaches and/or dance/movement therapy.
  • Experience facilitating group therapy or movement-based interventions, preferably in a virtual setting.
  • Strong collaboration skills with research teams and interdisciplinary professionals.
  • Familiarity with research methodologies, qualitative data collection, and academic writing is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

This is a Part time temporary position classified as non-exempt.  The pay offered is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
