Suspension of Drexel University's Contribution into 403(b) Retirement Plan

As communicated on Oct. 10, Drexel University is suspending its contributions to employee retirement plans for calendar year 2025 as part of its multi-year plan to build financial resilience. Job Summary

The Director of Recruitment will contribute to accomplishing university enrollment goals by leading the development and implementation of a successful recruitment plan with a goal to increase enrollment and yield of the first year and transfer student population. The director will provide a strategic and focused approach to territory management, establish goals and objectives for individual recruiters and the team as a whole through all stages of the enrollment funnel. This position requires a motivated, innovative, collaborative admissions professional who is willing to lead the admissions team with new and creative recruitment strategies.

This is a hybrid position, working a combination of in-person, remote, and domestic travel.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the development, implementation, assessment, and ongoing refinement of data-informed plans for recruitment and yield of domestic first-year and transfer students to meet institutional goals.
  • Plan and recommend all domestic recruitment activities – both on and off campus--to the Dean of Admissions.
  • Define and track appropriate metrics to evaluate ROI and outcomes, and revise strategies and practices accordingly.
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate both locally- and regionally-based recruiters who cover recruitment territories within the United States.
  • Collaborate and align with recruiters in our various colleges and schools within the university
  • Work with recruiters on territory development by utilizing Slate CRM tools to track territory management outcomes throughout the stages of the funnel
  • Provide daily supervision and direction of the Office of Admissions' recruitment team by setting staff priorities and deploying of staff resources in accordance with the University's enrollment goals
  • Provide weekly and monthly updates on recruitment initiatives and outcomes
  • Manage domestic recruitment budget and evaluate the ROI on recruitment initiatives 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
  • Minimum of 5 years of combined experience working within a University/College's admissions office and supervising staff
  • Knowledge and understanding of the analytical aspects of recruitment
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Effective conflict management skills
  • Ability to travel domestically
  • Willingness to and comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7 or more years of experience in higher education, preferably within a R-1 research institution
  • Experience recruiting both undergraduate and transfer students
  • Experience with Slate
  • Experience managing a large team
  • Ability to balance competing priorities

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt, grade M. Compensation for this grade ranges from $75,200 - $112,790 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
