Job Summary

The Website Manager reports to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications and oversees the websites for Drexel University College of Medicine, including its Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies, and Drexel Medicine, the clinical practice group. Working in collaboration with the marketing and communications team and stakeholders to implement business strategies consistent with the goals of the organization, they are entrusted with showcasing the College online and with helping to drive traffic and conversions. The Website Manager will help devise strategies to optimize the website for promotional purposes, while ensuring that content and brand standards are maintained across all online channels, including social media. This position performs in an evolving environment.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee daily activities for the websites - including collaborating at a high level with internal and external stakeholders to ensure content is up to date, constantly new, and matches the strategies set forth by marketing. 
  • Optimize website exposure by analyzing current trends, marketing opportunities, competitor performance and search optimization reporting to recommend steps to complement and maximize marketing strategies and content creation. 
  • Perform, manage and evaluate the needs for the development of new website content areas as internal stakeholders including Admissions, Institutional Advancement, Research, Educational Affairs, and others. 
  • Identify technical specifications to promote website functionality, including usability and security. Keep current with latest trends in web development, government regulations, as well as compliance policies and procedures at Drexel, through educational programming, meetings, professional organizations and internal resources such as IT. 
  • Project management oversight from inception to final product, from small to large scale work, to include complete website rebuilds and migrations to new content management system versions and upgrades.
  • Work with and manage multiple vendors with diverse skill sets.
  • Aid in the development of a strategy for social media that will ensure engaging content and adherence to brand standards at Drexel. 
  • Report out on web performance to stakeholders and conduct meetings to collect information and suggest improvements on web user experiences for target audiences. -
  • Implement online customer service and website testing processes to ensure positive and consistent user experiences. 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in computer science, IT, marketing/communications, related field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of five to seven years of experience.
  • Strong technical skills in areas including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as knowledge of search optimization and content management systems (CMS), are highly beneficial.

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt, grade L. Compensation for this grade ranges from $62,630 to $93,950 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
