Suspension of Drexel University's Contribution into 403(b) Retirement Plan

As communicated on Oct. 10, Drexel University is suspending its contributions to employee retirement plans for calendar year 2025 as part of its multi-year plan to build financial resilience. Drexel is continuing to monitor the situation and will share updates as they become available for calendar year 2026.

Job Summary

The Student Services Manager is responsible for the daily oversight of the Academic Advisors and acts as the Academic Advisor for their own assigned student caseload. The Student Services Manager serves as an exemplar of academic advising to emulate college standards and expectations of excellent customer service and student-centric approach. The Manager reports to the Assistant Director.

Essential Functions

  • Recruitment & Retention 
  • Manages and communicates with prospective student pipeline to improve enrollment and decrease melt • Assist in recruiting events and ensure representation of student services team
  • Works with college and university recruiting teams for quality assurance and accuracy of recruiting material/information Administration & Management
  • Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and correcting employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures
  • Oversee the day to day operations of the advising team and advocate for their success
  • Provide oversight, training, onboarding, and evaluations of the academic advisors 
  • Meets regularly with chairs, faculty, and assistant director.
  • Disseminate information to the advisors
  • Coordinate schedules for advisors–WFH/telework and approves time off.
  • Manage/resolve escalated student and department issues
  • Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for advisors 
  • Serve as the point person for faculty, staff, and administration when student services tasks are needed. Delegates as appropriate Student Success & Development
  • Act as the Academic Advisor for their assigned student caseload (See attached)
  • Ensure consistent student experience 
  • Work with other student services teams to ensure best practices within CNHP
  • Establish and support a schedule/process for reaching out to students 
  • Develop and implement new programs and initiatives to promote student success Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 2-years experience in high education, preferably in a leadership role
  • Advanced ability with Microsoft Office products is required; experience with Banner, Hyperion or other higher education systems is beneficial

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student records and adhere to FERPA and other University policies for student privacy
  • Exceptional organizational & project management skills, superior attention to detail
  • Innovative leadership and sound judgment, problem-solving
  • Excellent customer service skills & helpful demeanor
  • Competence in working with diverse populations
  • Excellent working knowledge of college and university policy and procedures

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt, grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from $54,630 to $ 81,940 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
