Job Summary 

This position is responsible for assisting the Mental Health provider team by providing direct support for projects and activities within the Office of Student Wellbeing. This position is responsible for day-to-day functions of the provider team with a particular focus on student access to services, triage of patients, scheduling, and processing intake paperwork, screening tools, releases of information, obtaining collateral information and records, communication with pharmacies and prior authorizations for medication. This position will also be responsible for answering phones, prescription routing, invoice/report management for online services and external providers, organizing students for wellness groups, keeping calendars for providers for meetings/committees, marketing services provided, monitoring and presenting data including visits and patient satisfaction.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as the initial contact for medical students seeking mental health services and triage their needs.
  • Lead, coordinate and manage the schedule for psychiatric services to include prioritizing patient needs, prior authorizations, scheduling lab work and assuring follow-through with ongoing contact with the student.
  • Refer students seeking psychotherapy to the appropriate resource.
  • Coordinate the creation of therapy groups including advertising, scheduling and follow up.
  • Serve as a liaison between Student Affairs and the Office of Student Wellbeing to receive referrals, provide documentation for exam or mandatory coursework excusal, as well as medical leaves of absence, and coordinate clinician calendars for meetings and educational programs.
  • Develop a list of external resources to include psychiatric and psychological options within their communities, including all DUCOM clinical affiliates and regional campuses.
  • Update the Mental Health section of the Student Affairs website to provide students with current and program specific online resources.

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of a High School 
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Compassion for patients, organization, collaborative team skills.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with Windows products.
  • Proficient in MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, MS Excel required.
  • Maintain strict adherence to confidentiality.

This is a Full time Temporary   position classified as Non Exempt.  The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
