Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated individual with an interest in contributing to a diverse research program. Under direct supervision from the principal investigator, the individual will be responsible for cleaning of experimental cages, lab organization and cleanup, bedding changes and other animal husbandry duties, electrode and vascular catheter fabrication, assessing laboratory supply inventories, and histology. The individual will also assist research technicians and graduate students in preparing experimental drugs, conducting rodent surgeries, setting-up behavioral and neurochemical experiments. Procedures and techniques will be outlined in detail with the employee exercising moderate discretion and independent judgment in completing assigned tasks.
Essential Functions
- Caring for Animals.
- Electrode and catheter fabrication.
- Assessing laboratory supply inventories.
- Preparing experimental drugs and reagents.
- Assisting with behavioral, neurochemical, immunohistochemical studies.
- Animal surgery.
- Participation in occasional weekend duties.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Neuroscience, Biology or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 months research experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Typically sitting at a desk/table.
- Typically standing, walking.
- Lifting demands ≤ 25lbs.

Additional Information
This is a Part time Per Diem position classified as non-exempt. The pay offered is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
