Job Summary

The Interim Coordinator of Student Diversity Programs will steward, facilitate, and operate the BRIDGE Scholars Program (BRIDGE) and the Made to Measure Apprenticeship Program (M2M) at Drexel University’s Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Anti-Racism, and the Program Administrator of the Office of IDEA, the Interim Coordinator of BRIDGE and M2M is responsible for the facilitation and operation of both programs. The Interim Coordinator’s main objective is the successful academic performance and retention of BRIDGE Scholars and M2M Students through the successful operation of both programs.   

Essential Functions

  • Provide regular and consistent engagement, communication, stewardship, and support service to students in the student diversity programs to support, mitigate, and enhance their academic success.
  • Facilitate application process to BRIDGE and M2M programs and their various scholarship/support platforms.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the academic advisors and professors on the academic performance of Bridge Scholars and M2M students.
  • Collate, create, propagate, and archive resource materials and communications supporting student success such as instructions on using Blackboard Learn, campus resources, and others.
  • Support, organize, and lead the student cohorts in fostering community.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal and external university and college-wide partners as the representative of Westphal College’s student diversity programs.
  • Handle planning of field trips and programs, including organizing ,scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, coordinating with vendors and suppliers.
  • Supervise student workers and volunteers. 
  • Track and maintain inventory of supplies and materials.
  • Track and document processes such as application to BRIDGE and M2M, study abroad scholarships, BRIDGE Awards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related job experience in an academic environment, student activities management, student or social services, or non-government organizations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Experience providing excellent customer service (students, faculty, and staff).
  • Ability to engage, collaborate and serve in a diverse community.  
  • Ability to work independently and take the initiative in directing own work, as well as working efficiently and effectively with others.  
  • Demonstrated excellence at planning and organizing own work and records as well as coordinating with related parties and seeking tasks through to a timely and successful conclusion.  
  • Ability to handle exceptions to processes and work assignments with professionalism, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Additional Information

This is a full-time Temporary position classified as Non-exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
