Job Summary 

Develop and implement the startup of the new Expedited Partner Treatment (EPT) initiative in the Philadelphia area, treating the sex partners of persons with diagnosed STIs who are unable or unlikely to seek timely treatment.

Essential Functions 

  • Report directly to the principal investigator, the Section Chief of Adolescent Medicine, and will have a key role in spearheading the Expedited Partner Treatment (EPT) Initiative in the Philadelphia area.
  • EPT is a harm-reduction strategy and the clinical practice of treating the sex partners of persons with diagnosed chlamydia, gonorrhea, or trichomoniasis who are unable or unlikely to seek timely treatment, by providing medications or prescriptions to the patient as allowable by law.
  • Roles will include administrative tasks, participant enrollment, data review from medical records, database management, monthly partner calls with grantor, participant advisory committee meetings, and quarterly reports. 
  • The case manager will act as a liaison between patients, their partners, and clinical providers and should be comfortable in clinical settings.
  • In performing this role, the case manager will be responsible for maintaining, organizing, and securing documents with protected health information.
  • Some duties will occur during scheduled weekday hours for this initiative at clinical sites within the Section of Adolescent Medicine at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.
  • Other duties, including administrative tasks and database management, can be performed remotely and on a flexible schedule.
  • The assistant will also have the opportunity to gain experience in the preparation of tables, figures, posters, and manuscripts related to the projects. 
  • The position might extend for more than five years based on performance and availability of funding.
  • Administrative tasks include participant enrollment, data review from medical records, database management, monthly partner calls with grantor, participant advisory committee meetings, and quarterly reports. 
  • Some of these duties, including administrative tasks and database management, can be performed remotely and on a flexible schedule.
  • Employee will have regular contact with patients and clinical providers and should be comfortable in clinical settings.
  • Responsible for maintaining, organizing, and securing documents with protected health information.
  • Preparation of tables, figures, posters, and manuscripts related to the research projects. 
  • The position might extend for more than five years based on performance and availability of funding.

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of a year of experience.

Additional Information 

This is a part-time per diem position classified as non-exempt.  The pay offered is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
