Suspension of Drexel University's Contribution into 403(b) Retirement Plan

As communicated on Oct. 10, Drexel University is suspending its contributions to employee retirement plans for calendar year 2025 as part of its multi-year plan to build financial resilience. Drexel is continuing to monitor the situation and will share updates as they become available for calendar year 2026.

Job Summary

The Co-op Advisor will assist students in achieving suitable cooperative education experiences across a variety of majors around the globe. This is a Hybrid position working in person several times a week.

Essential Functions

  • Student Relationship Management:
    • Create and manage student employment opportunities in assigned fields in regional, national and international setting; assist with career-related programs for undergraduate students.
    • Meet with students one-on-one to assist them with resumes, cover letters, interview skills and job search techniques. 
    • Respond to student and employer concerns while they are working.
    • Develop jobs in assigned majors through networking, faculty leads and outreaching to new employers.
    • Run reports to monitor and analyze student eligibility for co-op, progress in the job search and credit awarded for co-op. 
    • Use professional judgement to evaluate, consider and approve jobs for co-op credit.
    • Process paperwork for co-op related major changes and concentration changes.
    • Monitor and follow-up on progress of students in online modules.
  • Employer Relationship Management:
    • Serves as a liaison official between the University and employers regarding administrative and operating requirements for the cooperative education program.
    • Review and audit all posted jobs for accuracy and appropriateness.
    • Maintain the high quality of the co-op program by auditing satisfaction rates with regard to employers and consult with Office of Equality and Diversity, Office of General Counsel and in the case of Drexel University as the employer, Human Resources.
    • Makes site visits to employer locations, as requested or as required, if challenges with the employer are made known.
  • Academic Partner Relationship Management:
    • Support academic departments with the integration between academics and cooperative education, including developing career/industry related programming and adhering to students academic plan and progress towards degree.
    • Help to mitigate administrative hurdles between Drexel administrative offices including the Bursar, Financial Aid, the Registrar and the Academic Advisor.
    • Represent the Co-operative Education program at Admission/Enrollment events.
  • Support Steinbright with other functions, such as attend career fairs, career preparatory workshops, information sessions, and participate in mock interviews and hiring committees.
  • Opportunity to teach COOP 101, as needed, and Chair committees and/or be a committee member.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Strong interest assisting students to locate meaningful work experiences in related majors.
  • Ability to counsel students in a variety of majors regarding job search techniques and provide knowledge of industry specific trends and information.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.

This position is classified as Exempt, grade J. Compensation for this grade ranges from $47,490 - $71,230 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
