Suspension of Drexel University's Contribution into 403(b) Retirement Plan

As communicated on Oct. 10, Drexel University is suspending its contributions to employee retirement plans for calendar year 2025 as part of its multi-year plan to build financial resilience. Job Summary

Oversees the coordination and day-to-day operations of all aspects of the PA SNAP-Ed/EAT RIGHT PHILLY Nutrition Education Program funded by USDA through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed), including planning, organizing, budgeting, staffing, leading, program evaluation, and overseeing program activities. Support the Primary Investigator (P.I.) in the development of new initiatives that support the strategic direction of PA SNAP-Ed, including development of relationships with SNAP-Ed Eligible Program Delivery Sites. Collaborates on the development of long term goals and objectives set by the P.I. ) Implements and tracks long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program. Contributes to an annual Program Proposal which includes an annual budget, operating plan, and supporting materials to support the program. Prepares financial quarterly reports and invoices for PA SNAP-Ed, completes annual reporting, oversees, under the direction of the PI, program documentation and program evaluation activities. Acts as liaison between Drexel Office of Research and Innovation and the program external partners. Responsible for overall hiring, supervision, and evaluation of program staff. Serves as an advanced level nutrition coordinator. Prepares professional reports, publications and presentations. Oversees development of program evaluation tools and protocols to comply with the USDA Guidance, Drexel University, PA SNAP-Ed, and other organizations as needed. Must be a Registered Dietitian. Master's Degree in Nutrition or related field required; PhD preferred. PA Criminal background check, FBI, and child abuse clearances necessary. Must have access to a reliable form of transportation to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Current ServSafe Manager certification a plus.

Essential Functions

  • Creates, implements, and reviews financial management tools for program.
  • Responsible for Annual Proposal Development, monthly, quarterly and annual financial, program and evaluation reporting to PA SNAP-Ed, as well as oversight and preparation of annual reporting for PA SNAP-Ed, Drexel University and other organizations as needed.
  • Develops and implements long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program.
  • Supervises Assistant Director and nutrition education team, which includes recruiting, hiring, scheduling, and evaluation.
  • Supervises administrative coordinator and administrative assistant in administrative duties of food and supply inventory, ordering and budget compliance.
  • Advanced level nutrition educator. Prepares, oversees, participates in and conducts conferences and workshops for Program Delivery Sites Staff and PA SNAP-Ed staff as needed. 
  • Prepares professional reports, publications and presentations which promote USDA and PA SNAP-Ed initiatives.
  • Acts as liaison between Drexel Office of Research and Innovation and Drexel departments, and Program Delivery Sites.
  • Responsible for development of Program Proposals and other necessary materials. Responsible for technical and compliance aspects of USDA grants and any audits that are required.
  • Oversees development and implementation of Policies and Procedures for the Drexel PA SNAP-Ed Program.
  • Maintains confidentiality of Drexel and Program Delivery sites, and PA SNAP-Ed records.
  • Adheres to Policies and Procedures of Drexel University.
  • Maintains security of all Drexel and Program Delivery Site Property.
  • Maintains security of all Drexel and Program Delivery Site property.
  • Oversees and reviews program documentation and reporting to PA SNAP-Ed. Reviews for accuracy, consistency, and quality for grant reporting.
  • Oversees development and implementation of program evaluation and protocols to meet PA SNAP-Ed objectives, SNAP-Ed Guidance, Drexel University, SDP and other partner organizations as needed. Develops and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of Master's Degree in Nutrition or related field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. 
  • Minimum of 5 plus years of experience. 
  • Registered dietitian
  • Minimum of five years' experience managing $500,000 or greater budgets
  • Experience building and managing teams of at least 10 people

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Nutrition or Food Sciences preferred.

This position is classified as Exempt, grade M. Compensation for this grade ranges from $75,200 to $112,790 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
