Clinical Educator, Speech-Language Pathology - Per Diem

Essential Functions

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Engage in student supervision, teaching, clinical and community service activities to advance the education and training of students enrolled in the SLP master’s program as well as additional programs as developed.
  • Contribute to the educational process and program development in accordance with the standards, principles and scope of practice set forth by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate and maintain a clinic schedule for the Speech-Language Institute
  • Demonstrate and maintain guidelines for documentation and billing of clients
  • Facilitate and maintain accurate documentation of SLP students' clinical competencies and records of earned clinical clock hours for future state licensure and as required for certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA.)
  • Summarize and report information from internal SLP clinical practicum students to inform the academic curriculum.
  • Maximize resources and maintain high faculty and staff morale in the SLP program.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • PA - Speech-Language Pathology Licensure
  • Abide by the ASHA code of ethics, scopes, CAA guidelines, mission, vision and goals
  • A broad understanding of SLP in its present and future role within a complex and dynamic healthcare and education system.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to maintain effective relationships with a variety of internal and external constituencies of the College of Education and Rehabilitation and the university.
  • Seeking an SLP with clinical expertise in pediatrics and autism and AAC.
  • Expertise in pediatric.

Additional Information

This is a Part-Time per diem position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
