Job Summary  

The adjunct faculty member will employ a variety of strategies to foster student professional development, learning and discussions, as well as encourage active learning in all students, maintain proper course-related records, and evaluate student work and provide students with feedback as to the progress toward meeting the objectives of the course. Each adjunct faculty member is responsible for effectively teaching students in the assigned classroom. Each adjunct faculty member is responsible for effectively implementing the mission of the Construction Management Program within the Department of Engineering Leadership and Society in the College of Engineering. Responsibilities include teaching evenings in-person only.  

 Essential Functions  

  • Teach required number of credit hours per quarter based on contract.  
  • Teach lecture, seminar, and/or practicum course related to construction site logistics. 
  • Plan and provide instructional experiences that reflect an understanding of the philosophy, objectives, and curriculum of the program with construction field operations. 
  • Acquire and maintain skills necessary to navigate Drexel online teaching resources (e.g. Blackboard Learn, ZOOM and other learning platforms and communication tools), to effectively share course content, communicate with students and evaluate their work.  
  • Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes. 
  • Maintain communication with the program director and faculty course coordinator regarding any course or student issues. 
  • Perform other similar duties as assigned.  

 Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or advanced degree in architecture, civil engineering or a related field pertinent to the position.
  • Professional experience in health care construction management. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in the field pertinent to the position.
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
