Job Summary

Drexel University is among the top 50 private, nonprofit, national research universities in the United States, offering in-person, hybrid, and online education. 

The Department of Health Administration within the LeBow School of Business offers both graduate and undergraduate degrees in health services administration. Students may select full-time (undergraduate only) or part-time study. Courses are delivered in-person, online, or in hybrid format. The core curriculum is designed to expose students to the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the healthcare industry through didactic and experiential learning in leadership, general management, economic principles, and health policy. At the same time, the program exposes students to interdisciplinary study in areas such as bioethics, epidemiology, and the history of healthcare.

Currently, the Department of Health Administration is accepting applications for adjunct instructors with expertise in:

  • Health information systems (HIS) and HIS Data Privacy, with priority on those with a background in HIS. 
  • Quality Management, with priority on those with a significant background in administrative and leadership roles in health care delivery settings.

Selected candidates will join a pool of adjunct faculty who will serve on an ad hoc basis to teach classes in person (day or evening), online, or in hybrid format. Currently, there is more need for teachers who can teach in an online, asynchronous format. Selected candidates must be able to teach both in the Bachelor of Science and the Master of Health Administration program. Adjunct instructors are hired on a term-by-term basis.

Essential Functions

  • Implement the mission of Drexel University, LeBow, and the Department of Health Administration
  • Deliver 11-week quarter course online, in-person, or hybrid format
  • Collaborate with lead faculty to design, implement and evaluate assigned course
  • Maintain open communication with students, lead faculty, and other University or department representatives
  • Comply with University and departmental policies and practices

Required Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of healthcare work experience in area of interest
  • Demonstrated content expertise
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with students and faculty
  • Sufficient technical skills to manage an online course delivery system, electronic communication, and internet research

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree preferred
  • Prior teaching experience preferred
