Job Summary

The Manager of Marketing and Fan Engagement for Drexel Athletics is responsible for assisting the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations, the Assistant Athletic Director of External Relations in all aspects of the marketing, promotions and fan engagement of Drexel Athletics. Assist Coordinator of Tickets with gameday and day-to-day ticket office duties.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee marketing social media incentives and strategic plan with Sports Information and coordinate with marketing liaisons for each sport.
  • Lead mascot program including recruiting, training and scheduling appearances for Mario the Magnificent.
  • Create content for digital platforms and oversee Mario the Magnificent’s social media platforms.
  • Coordinate promotional efforts with marketing liaisons on weekly posters, flyers, game day signs, and bulletin board around campus.
  • Responsible for athletic marketing, promotions and social media with concentration on specific sports.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of the yearly marketing and promotions plan.
  • Create new strategies and develop a marketing plan to increase attendance and Drexel pride at home sporting events.
  • Assist with Spirit Teams (Cheer, Dance and Pep Band).
  • Fulfill donation requests.
  • Coordinate or assist in special events such as golf outings, School days, banquets, fundraisers or department functions, and other events as determined.
  • Assist with operations at the annual Dad Vail Regatta.
  • Assist in the game-day ticket office duties which include setting up, training and assigning student staff, reconciling transactions and calling the attendance.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service to all season ticket holders and fans; act as a troubleshooter for possible problems at the DAC and Vidas Field on game days.
  • Assist with marketing and sales of tickets when hosting special events; i.e. CAA Tournaments, NCAA Tournaments, etc.
  • Develop internal/campus relationships through promotions, events and gameday recognition opportunities ie: alumni relations, student life, residential living, Greek life, etc.
  • Act as an advisor for DAC Pack to help them increase student excitement and attendance at home basketball games.
  • Coordinate Welcome Week activities with Student Life and Recreation to create excitement and awareness of Drexel Athletics for incoming students.
  • Assist in basketball (and other ticketed sports) game day productions including promotions, music and overall fan engagement.
  • Coordinate Youth Group attendance at games and develop promotions for groups to engage, including half-time and post-game opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Director of Athletics, External Relations.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of  Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous employment/internship in an athletic department in marketing/tickets and/or experience as an NCAA student-athlete.
  • Experience with targeted social media and search advertising campaigns.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud.

  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
