Job Summary

A research assistant is needed for a NIA-funded national randomized clinical trial that evaluates a web-based intervention for caregivers of persons living with dementia. The Research Assistant’s primary role will be to work closely with the Interviewers and Project Manager to train caregivers across the country in using the intervention. They may also assist with fidelity review, eligibility screening, and additional tasks as needed. Training will be provided. Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate caregivers’ schedules. This position is remote.

Essential Functions

  • Provide intervention training with caregivers via telephone.
  • Conduct weekly telephone calls with caregivers to prompt tool utilization.
  • Enter data and checks completed for completeness, legibility, fidelity, and accuracy. • Obtain missing or questionable data.
  • Follow all study IRB approved protocols and procedures
  • Attend team meetings.
  • Communicate with Interviewers, Project Manager and Principal Investigator about all schedule changes and study-related issues.
  • Other research related activities as assigned by study coordinator, Project Manager, and/or PI.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ Years Experience
  • Must be able to commit to 1 year of steady employment. Research experience and/or experience working with caregivers of people living with dementia required. 
  • Telephone etiquette required.
  • Ability to follow detailed research protocols. 
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal/written communication skills and self-motivation is critical.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills required.
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment..
  • Must be able to interact effectively with study participants and coworkers from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. REDCap experience preferred.
