Job Overview

The Goodwin College at Drexel University invites qualified candidates to apply for an adjunct teaching position within the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) department. CPE is seeking subject matter experts who have expertise and a passion for teaching new skills to adult learners at every career stage and level of work and educational experience including incumbent workers, unemployed, low-skilled, and underrepresented populations.

Essential Functions  

Adjunct practitioners will teach continuing education courses and programs including Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Web Design, Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma), Supervisory and Leadership trainings and other non-credit and professional education courses. Some evening and weekend hours will be required. Adjuncts will be expected to teach Drexel designed courses and / or use their own developed curriculum. Adjuncts will be hired by Drexel University as an employee. 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in facilitation and designing courses
  • Expertise with helping adults apply virtual or in-person classroom lessons to practical professional settings (i.e., group activities, business, and industry case studies, etc.)
  • Exemplify extraordinary interpersonal communication skills
  • Has a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Innovative, creative facilitator who uses andragogical best practices and applies relevant industry data and trends in the virtual or in-person classroom
  • Proficient with various learning management or training delivery platforms and offers training tools including assessments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degree preferred: Candidates with industry certifications, professional certifications and extensive classroom experience will also be considered
