Suspension of Drexel University's Contribution into 403(b) Retirement Plan

As communicated on Oct. 10, Drexel University is suspending its contributions to employee retirement plans for calendar year 2025 as part of its multi-year plan to build financial resilience. Job Summary

The Assistant Director is responsible for the business operations and administrative management of noncredit programs offered via the Office of Continuing Professional Education and Workforce Initiatives (CPEWI) at Goodwin College of Professional Studies.

The Assistant Director provides strategic direction and is the primary facilitator of essential operations that impact all aspects of Goodwin College’s non-traditional and/or adult student developmental experience.

Essential Functions

  • Marketing & Recruitment
    • Enrollment management, learner and client pipeline development, and marketing
    • Website updates
    • Support CPE and Goodwin leadership in the marketing of noncredit and workforce development programs to current and prospective students, alumni, and other partners
    • Creating quarterly information sessions to engage with adult learners plus employer engagement surveys
    • Student recruitment via traditional partnership and career accelerated opportunities. 
  • Responsible for enrollment management for all CPE programs and administration of CPE noncredit registration SAAS software (Jenzabar)
    • Assesses current business processes and identifies opportunities for automation and process improvement
  • Serves as the CPE Subject Matter Expert in all cross functional teams related to business operations, administrative resources, and enrollment management
  • Stay abreast (for recommendations) of current and future trends as it relates to adult education, up-skilling, micro credentials, and degree completion, workforce development, etc.
  • Data management by maintaining accurate records of participants’ progress and program outcomes
  • Program development in the design and implementation of CPEWI programs tailored to the needs of participants
  • Ensure all activities comply with university, federal, state, and local regulations, including safety standards
    • Manage contracting, accounts receivable/payable, and grants 
    • Managing advising support
    • Manage and assess CPEWI student academic and professional development
  • Coordinate non-credit to credit opportunities with appropriate Goodwin College staff.
  • Act as liaison with adjunct faculty and third-party vendors for Goodwin College
  • Provide onsite support as Goodwin College representative 
    • Apprenticeship Program / Workforce Development
    • Satisfy Apprenticeship Training Office grantee requirements including grantee meetings, apprenticeship training representative bi-weekly meetings and program quarterly reports
    • Work to support awareness of Drexel University’s apprenticeship programs through regional and statewide apprenticeship ecosystem collaboratives
  • Evaluate and present viable federal and state apprenticeship grants to apprenticeship leadership team and coordinate application efforts
  • Act in the capacity of Apprenticeship Navigator and subject matter expert to support Drexel University colleges and units interested in developing registered apprenticeships

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience in nonprofit management, workforce development, social work, adult education, higher education and related sectors may be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as related to essential duties.
  • Documented project management skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to outstanding concern and service to customers.
  • Knowledge of diverse adult populations and workforce development initiatives
  • Strong organizational, time management, data analytics, project management skills required
  • Practical experience with curriculum, staff development, budgeting, and contracts
  • Foundational understanding of andragogical teaching principles, best practices, trends, and approaches in higher education, particularly for adult students and underserved communities
  • Knowledge of Federal and Commonwealth of PA Apprenticeship program management guidelines and registration process.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Grant writing experience.
  • Demonstratable proficiency with PC’s and related software, experience with Banner, Hyperion, Blackboard, and meeting software.
  • Exceptional customer service aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent listening and skills.
  • Must possess subject matter expertise including extensive knowledge of university offerings, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other common personal computer applications.

This position is classified as Exempt, grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from $54,630.00 - $81,940.00 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
