Suspension of Drexel University's Contribution into 403(b) Retirement Plan

As communicated on Oct. 10, Drexel University is suspending its contributions to employee retirement plans for calendar year 2025 as part of its multi-year plan to build financial resilience. Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, the Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Office of Global Engagement and Education Abroad. The coordinator provides scheduling and travel support for the Vice Provost, and serves as the initial contact for current and prospective students and faculty interested in education abroad opportunities. Adhering to all Drexel University policies, procedures, and timelines, they must ensure daily office activities run smoothly and efficiently and are expected to actively participate in planning events. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment while prioritizing and balancing competing tasks is essential. This is an entry level position reporting to the Vice Provost for Global Engagement.

Essential Functions

  • Planning and executing events for the Office of Global Engagement and Education Abroad, including the Annual Student Conference on Global Challenges, and quarterly Cross-Country conversation panel, the annual GoAbroad fair, Senior Send Off, Welcome/Welcome Back events, including room reservations, food orders, appointments, etc. including event marketing materials and promotion
  • Perform general office duties including ordering office supplies, interfacing with Drexel facilities, etc.
  • Update and maintain Office of Global Engagement and Education Abroad website
  • Oversee the hiring and manage job responsibilities of work -study students including any work-study students working for office while they are abroad
  • Facilitate student registration and billing for Education Abroad programs, including non-Drexel students who go on Drexel programs
  • Maintain Education Abroad student databases and interface with university databases (Banner, Hyperion, Touchnet etc) and application management systems (Terra Dotta for both outbound and inbound students
  • Intake and organize Ed. Abroad application materials, including program fee payments and deposits
  • Review and respond to the Education Abroad and Global Engagement email accounts, and serve as first point-of-contact for office visitors

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience
  • Demonstrated interest and enthusiasm for the work of the Office of Global Engagement and Education Abroad
  • Sound judgment, initiative, aptitude for administrative detail and database management (knowledge of Studio Abroad, Banner and Hyperion a plus)
  • Participation in an education, work, or volunteer abroad experience
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, time management and organization skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Event planning experience preferred
  • Strong preference will be given to candidates with diverse living and language backgrounds.
  • Background knowledge or experience in international education strongly preferred.

This position is classified as Non-Exempt, grade G. Compensation for this grade ranges from $ 15.58 to $ 23.37 per hour. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
