Job Summary

The Assistant Director, Annual Giving plays a key role in developing and executing a comprehensive annual giving program for the Office of Institutional Advancement (IA). This position focuses on engaging the Drexel community, especially recent graduates, current students, parents and families, to support the university philanthropically.

This role supports multi-channel solicitation campaigns that use direct mail, email, text, web-based platforms, and personal outreach. A core responsibility will be collaborating with campus partners across the university to promote engagement from this constituency. The Assistant Director also acts as the primary project and administrative manager for the Annual Giving team.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in the development and execution of solicitations for Drexel’s central annual giving program in alignment with IA strategic goals. Coordinate with internal and campus partners on messaging and timing. 
  • Serve as the lead for the Senior Class Gift Campaign and the Student Philanthropy Council. Support the planning and execution of Drexel Giving Day, assisting with a variety of tasks, including leading on volunteer management, student communications, and social media coordination.
  • Coordinate the production of annual giving projects such as unit and central appeals, emails, and print projects as the project manager for Annual Giving. Responsibilities include creation of giving links, appeal codes, data requests, report creation and enhancement to track and improve key metrics and performance.
  • Assist in the development and execution of annual stewardship opportunities and solicitations for current students, young alumni, parents and families to increase donor retention and key metrics.
  • Field inquiries from donors, prospects, campus partners and alumni via the annual giving email inbox and phone line.
  • Work closely with members of the IA Engagement team, Fundraising Units, and partners across campus to promote annual giving efforts. Serve as a strategic lead for student, parent/family and young alumni fundraising and for assigned school/college units.
  • Actively participate in team initiatives, overarching solicitations, annual giving activities, fundraising and stewardship events, and play a key role in fundraising efforts throughout IA.
  • Identify opportunities to improve programs, enhance the donor experience, and increase gift potential and overall constituent engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
  • Minimum of 1-3 years professional experience
  • Enthusiastic about the impacts of philanthropy.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Understanding of and ability to work with relational data.
  • Confidence with large data sets, Microsoft Access & Excel.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt, grade J. Compensation for this grade ranges from $ 47,490.00 to $ 71,230.00 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
