Job Summary

The Director of Processing manages a team of staff and student employees and is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of the annual plan for processing (receive, scan and enter data) incoming admission documents as well as those for outgoing admissions mail and the inventory and maintenance of admission recruitment material. This position is vital to meeting university enrollment goals through strategic planning, and ensuring effective/efficient processing of admission applications. The Director is also responsible for the recommendation and development of new processes that improve the methods by which Operations delivers its services.

This is a hybrid position, working primarily in-person throughout the week.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the development of a professional team focused on providing exceptional customer service and support to the prospective student population
  • Develop annual plan to manage all facets of admission document and data entry
  • Develop and maintain written procedures outline all processes processing staff
  • Oversee the processes performed by full-time and/or temporary staff related to the processing of admission documents, calculation of high school and post-secondary transcripts, processing incoming and outgoing mail, and partner tuition discounts for Drexel University Online students
  • Oversee the delivery of training to staff related to routine daily tasks as well as quality assurance practices and procedures
  • Collaborate with members of the Operations and Admissions departments to recommend methods for improved efficiency and quality
  • Assist with the development of production reports relevant to the evaluation of processing and staffing plans
  • Analyze data/reports to maintain an acceptable level of quality related to processing 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in higher education, with at least 3 years working within higher education operations
  • Applicable knowledge in federal and state regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to manage conflict and high complex situations and relationships
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple competing priorities
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends throughout the year

Required Qualifications

  • Experience supervising a team of professional/administrative staff
  • Experience using Slate or similar Admissions CRM

Additional Information

This position is classified as Exempt, grade M. Compensation for this grade ranges from $75,200 - $112,790 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
