 Job Summary 

Investigate the role of exosome biology and epigenetic regulation in pain using an integrated approach combining molecular and in vivo techniques. Studies pursued are aimed at advancing both basic research and novel therapeutic strategies to better understand and treat pain. Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry or a related field. Candidates must have experience working with extracellular vesicles and rodent models. Successful applicants are expected to work independently and to be self-motivated, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Essential Functions

Perform experiments proposed in the NIH grant.      

  • Generate and test mouse models of pain.
  • Isolate and characterize small extracellular vesicles.
  • Determine gene and protein expression.

Analyze data and write manuscript for publication.              

  • Analyze RNA sequencing data.
  • Analyze mouse behavior testing data.
  • Generate figures for publication in scientific journals.
  • Write manuscript.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in Neuropharmacology.
  • Minimum of close to year of experience.
  • Experience working with rodent models of pain, molecular and cell biology techniques and bioinformatic analyses.

Additional Information 

This is a Full time Temporary position classified as Exempt.  The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
