Job Summary
The Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum Department within the School of Education is accepting applications for adjunct instructors with expertise in school psychology. Areas of specialization include academic assessment and intervention, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), and social-emotional/behavioral assessment. Selected candidates will join a pool of adjunct faculty who will serve on an ad-hoc basis to teach classes in-person (evening). Adjunct instructors are hired on a term-by-term basis. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and will be reviewed when openings become available.
The Drexel School Psychology Educational Specialist (EdS) program is designed to prepare graduates to become certified school psychologists skilled in assessment, intervention, and consultation. This hybrid program features both in-person and online coursework.
Essential Functions
- Teach assigned coursework in academic assessment or social-emotional/behavioral assessment in accordance with the course outline.
- Be competent in the use of the course Learning Management System (Blackboard Learn).
- Provide prompt and helpful feedback on students’ assignments, including practice psychoeducational assessments and reports, presentations, and examinations.
- Respond to student inquiries in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
- Specialist-level (EdS/CAGS) or Doctoral degree in School Psychology is required.
- Must be able to teach on campus during evening hours (5:00-7:50pm).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience teaching graduate students is preferred.
