Job Summary

The Strategic Design Fellowship Coach will be responsible for co-creating, conducting, and managing their relevant courses within the Strategic Design Fellowship program at Drexel University. Fellowship Coaches will be expected to establish course learning objectives and lectures; managing their class to create a safe, welcoming, and rigorous learning environment for their students; and for developing each fellow's interest in and the ability for creative expression in technical terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent within photography & digital art.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct weekly classes for the Strategic Design Fellows to create and provide skill and knowledge-based, hands-on photography and creative industry training for participants in the fellowship program.
  • Create a schedule of projects, activities, and deliverables and list of equipment and supplies within a limited budget.
  • Plan and execute multiple gallery exhibitions and working with each member of the fellowship to prepare their work.
  • Hold regular weekly “office hours” for the Strategic Design Fellows.
  • Instruct fellows, individually and in groups, on the business of photography.
  • Facilitate group critiques and feedback sessions. 
  • Assist with logistical support as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practicing artist with experience working in the visual, literary, or performing arts.
  • Experience teaching in higher education.

  • University City – Philadelphia, PA

Additional Information

This is a Part-time Per Diem position classified as Non-exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
