Job Summary

The Temporary Employee carries out experiments as part of a team of researchers to investigate the molecular mechanisms driving cancer and cancer metastasis. They will also record and analyze experimental results and collaborate effectively with other team members.

Essential Functions

  • Perform a variety of moderately complex, analytical and technical laboratory experiments, analysis and other duties as required in the study; pure research work following established methods and procedures.
  • Present findings of ongoing research at lab meetings, research progress seminars, professional meetings and conferences.
  • Conduct literature searches, writes, and publishes the results of their research.
  • Independently research in the laboratory of a principal investigator.

Laboratory Duties

  • Mammalian cell culture.
  • Cloning, lentiviral production, cell line creation.
  • Perform western blotting, flow cytometry, and other biological assays.
  • Document experiments in laboratory notebook.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Laboratory experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Typically sitting at a desk/table
  • Typically standing, walking
  • Lifting demands ≤ 25lbs

Additional Information

This is a full-time temporary position classified as non-exempt.  The pay offered is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
