Job Summary
The Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science at Drexel University is seeking to appoint a part time research assistant. The successful candidate will work on a research project titled “Assessing minoritized student campus recreation engagement and belonging across Drexel and Lincoln Universities”.
This study aims to evaluate and compare minoritized student campus recreation service engagement, success, and belonging across Drexel and Lincoln Universities. Drexel’s location and environment fosters translational research opportunity, which will be strengthened by partnering with Lincoln University as the nation’s first degree-granting HBCU, committed to social responsibility. A partnership across Drexel and Lincoln will add diversity of thought, life experience, and potentially attract prospective students for graduate education to foster a unique ecosystem of translational research. Evaluation of student recreation engagement demonstrates a pedagogical innovation that has significant potential for positive impact of all students, increasing connection and fostering belonging to already available resources to demonstrate the value of place-based education.
Essential Functions
- To assist in all project activities including data management, recruitment, scheduling, interview facilitation, analysis, and dissemination.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of HS Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience.
- The appointee must be an undergraduate student studying Health Sciences or other closely related fields with the following:
- Knowledge in campus recreation literature and mixed methodology (desirable).
- Experience with mixed methodology (desirable).
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in scientific writing and spoken (in English) skills.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, take initiative and meet deadlines.
- Flexible, committed and problem-solving attitude.
- Effective planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks.

Additional Information
This is a Part-Time per diem/casual position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
