Job Summary

The Department of Health Management and Policy is seeking a Project Coordinator with expertise in managing the administrative aspects of research projects including expense tracking, performance monitoring, contracting, and data collection. Successful applicants will have experience in project coordination or management of federal or non-profit grants. The role will be funded through an American Cancer Society grant to Principal Investigator, Dr. Jan Eberth, in the Department of Health Management and Policy at the Dornsife School of Public Health.

This is a grant funded position.

Eligible candidates should have training and expertise in public health or a related field. We would like the potential candidate to start early June 2025. Applicants that can work on location in Philadelphia are preferred, although hybrid work arrangements may be considered in special circumstances (therefore, some travel is expected).

Essential Functions

  • Design and Implementation of Study Protocols:
    • Develop comprehensive workplans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of the research study.
    • Ensure that all documentation adheres to regulatory requirements and best practices in public health research. 
  • Clinic Onboarding and Engagement:
    • Oversee the end-to-end onboarding process for participating clinics.
    • Coordinate the execution of contracts, delivering training sessions for clinic staff, and tracking progress toward study milestones.
    • Act as a primary liaison to ensure smooth integration and sustained collaboration with each site. 
  • Translation and Cultural Adaptation of Study Materials:
    • Lead the process of translating survey instruments, consent forms, and other study-related materials from English to Spanish.
    • Ensure linguistic accuracy and cultural appropriateness through collaboration with bilingual team members and/or external translation professionals. 
  • Project Coordination:
    • Participate in regular grant-related meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provide updates on project timelines, deliverables, and challenges, and contribute to strategic discussions to advance study goals. 
  • Collaborative Research and Mentorship Environment:
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes Master’s and PhD-level trainees from the Dornsife School of Public Health.
    • Contribute to a supportive learning environment by providing guidance and sharing subject matter expertise as needed. 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public health or related field.
  • Experience with project coordination or management of research grants.
  • Strong oral, written, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience translating materials from English to Spanish language.

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt, grade J. Compensation for this grade ranges from $47,490.00 to $71,230.00 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
