Job Summary
Content Writer to support our storytelling efforts. This role involves conducting interviews with alumni, faculty, staff, and students to craft compelling narratives for use on our website and social media platforms. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a passion for health professions education and a knack for turning conversations into engaging content.
Essential Functions
- Conduct interviews (in-person, phone, or virtual) with alumni, faculty, staff, and students.
- Write feature stories, profiles, and news articles that align with the College’s voice and mission.
- Meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with the communications team to identify story opportunities and content needs.
- Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Adapt content for various platforms including web, social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Other duties as assigned .
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Excellent interviewing, writing, and editing skills.
- Ability to write in a clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate style.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and social media content strategies is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently and on a flexible schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using content management systems
- Understanding of the healthcare or academic environment.

Additional Information
This is a Part-Time Per diem position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
