Job Summary
We are looking for a research assistant to work in the EXCEL Lab at Drexel University’s Department of Counseling and Family Therapy. Through funding from the National Institutes of Mental Health, SAMHSA, and other organizations, the EXCEL lab conducts research focused on family-centered prevention, treatment, and recovery support for women with substance use disorders (SUDs) and their families. Current studies are specifically focused on family member involvement in substance use treatment, medication for opioid use disorder adherence, parenting stress, and marginalization related stress for mothers with SUDs. This position will have opportunities to collaborate with other labs in the department focusing on the role of parenting and child development in families affected by SUDs.
Essential Functions
- Creating surveys, cleaning and analyzing data, management of databases, recruiting and communicating with study participants, conducting qualitative assessments, working with the IRB to approve new studies and amend preexisting projects, managing volunteers in the lab, and grant and manuscript development.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work.
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience.
- Good interpersonal skills, proficiency with survey platforms (REDCap & Qualtrics), data cleaning, analysis, and management (SPSS), organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Background and interest in clinical research, research experience in an academic or mental health setting is preferred.

Additional Information
This is a Part-Time temporary casual position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
