Job Summary

The Research Associate will work closely with Drs. Jane E. Clougherty (Drexel), Anthony Wexler, and Chao Chen (UC Davis). The position is supported by an NIH R01, based at University of California at Davis. The study uses controlled exposures to both chronic stressors (intermittent variable stress) and traffic-related air pollutants (generated from Caldecott Tunnel in California) to examine the role of chronic stress in altering the impact of air pollution on indicators of inflammation, autonomic function, and cardiovascular function – and to disentangle directionality in the interactions among multiple exposures.

Applicants should have substantial experience in statistics/ biostatistics, air pollution sciences, toxicology, epidemiology, or a related field. The applicant should also have strong experience in statistical modeling using SAS or R, interest in a career in environmental health research, and strong interpersonal and communications skills.
