Job Summary
The Summer Institute Training Coordinator supports the Urban Health Collaborative’s Summer Institute by designing and delivering applied, practice-oriented training sessions focused on urban health research, policy, methods, or practice. Trainers are responsible for facilitating high-quality learning experiences for a diverse audience of researchers, practitioners, and professionals through in-person, online, or hybrid formats. The role emphasizes adult learning principles, applied skill development, and alignment with the UHC’s mission to advance urban health equity.
Essential Functions
- The Summer Inst. Training Coordinator develops and delivers structured training content aligned with approved Summer Institute topics and schedules.
- This includes preparing training materials, exercises, and resources that are accessible, inclusive, and appropriate for adult learners with varying levels of expertise.
- The Summer Inst. Training Coordinator facilitates live training sessions, encourage participant engagement, and foster an environment that supports discussion, collaboration, and applied learning. They integrate real-world examples, case studies, and practical applications relevant to urban health research and practice.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Master's Degree in Public Health
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience.
- A graduate degree in public health, urban studies, social sciences, data science, policy,
- Demonstrated subject-matter expertise in the proposed training area.
- Experience delivering trainings, workshops, or professional development sessions to adult learners.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience delivering training in community-based settings.
- Familiarity with urban health research, policy, or practice.
- Experience with online or hybrid training platforms and interactive learning tools.

Additional Information
This is a Part-Time per diem position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
