Job Summary
We are seeking an Assistant Research Professor to work on the NIH-funded study, Trauma Intervention to Optimize PrEP Among Women Who Inject Drugs (TIARAS), a randomized controlled trial is to test the effectiveness of a trauma intervention designed to reduce HIV acquisition risk among women who inject drugs.
The Assistant Research Professor will work with Dr. Alexis Roth, Associate Professor of Community Health and Prevention at Drexel University.
This position is grant-funded; employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds.
Essential Functions
- The Assistant Research Professor will be primarily responsible for designing and conducting analyses and authoring publications. Survey and qualitative research experience is required and experience with mixed-methods research is desirable.
- They will have the opportunity to lead publications and develop their own research ideas. Essential Functions
- Advise on, design, and conduct data analyses
- Contribute to publishing scholarly papers and conference abstracts as lead or co-author
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in Public Health, epidemiology, social science
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience.
- Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis
- Proficiency in SAS and/or Stata
- Experience analyzing survey data
- Demonstrated expertise related to two or more of the following: policy research; substance use; intersectionality; mental health; HIV; measurement and psychometrics; community-based participatory research
- Possess excellent oral, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Experience applying anti-racist and equity, diversity, and inclusion frameworks to research processes

This is a Part-Time per diem/casual position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
