Job Summary

The per diem quality assurance monitor will provide research oversight and administrative support to Dr. Alexis Roth and the Health Equity Advancement Lab (HEAL) at Drexel University. This position will primarily work on a large randomized controlled trial testing the efficacy of a behavioral intervention to prevent HIV among women who inject drugs. The quality assurance monitor will assist with maintaining study databases and monitoring data entry; tracking data quality and completeness; monitoring study-related spending and collates data for a cost effectiveness assessment in collaboration with research partners, and developing reports for community partners, the data safety monitoring board, and study funders. This is a fully remote position.

This position is grant-funded; employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds.   

Essential Functions

  • Assist with the development and review of data collection systems.
  • Monitor study records to ensure that work produced meets project standards and follows study procedures as outlined in standard operating procedures, and study protocol.
  • Collect and compile data, statistics and other materials for reports, budgets, correspondence, etc. 
  • Help develop reports that describe study progress for stakeholders, funders, and data safety monitoring board.
  • Collaborate with the research team to identify strategies for participant recruitment and retention.
  • Ensure compliance with research ethics, confidentiality protocols, and IRB guidelines.
  • Attend regular meetings with the study team and the principal investigator. 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Master's Degree in Public Health
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience. 
  • Commitment to the HEAL lab’s core values.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to manage a large team with different strengths, talents, and experience.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working as a field staff on community-based research studies with at risk for HIV
  • Mastery of good clinical practices to ensure the integrity and quality of research records.

Additional Information

This is a Part-Time per diem position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
