Junior Summer Undergraduate Internship available in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology
Essential Functions
- Junior Summer Undergraduate Intern:
- Incumbent will work under close supervision with faculty and graduate students learning how to perform LC-MS assays for (p)ppGpp, the bacterial second messenger associated with triggering the stringent response and activating virulence factor production.
- These assays will be performed on a variety of bacterial specimens produced as part of a larger research program to understand the biochemistry and molecular biology of inhibitors of the stringent response
- This position does not require any previous laboratory experience but does require the incumbent to be enrolled in a collegiate degree-bearing program in the natural sciences.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of HS Diploma or GED.
