Job Summary

The Literacy Specialist would create, organize, coordinate, and articulate our literacy efforts at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.

Essential Functions

  • The Literacy Specialist would create, organize, coordinate, and articulate our literacy efforts at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.
  • We have 5 Reach Out and Read programs at SCHC and have expanded to 4 other sections in the hospital as part of our efforts to expand literacy efforts in the enterprise.
  • We need a dedicated person to help coordinate all of our efforts and successfully expand our programming.
  • This person will be responsible for organizing books drives, collecting, sorting, and distributing books, coordinating volunteer readers, and collaborating with community partners.
  • A Literacy Specialist would provide leadership to and coordinate literacy efforts across the SCHC Enterprise, build and strengthen partnerships with community organizations and potential funders, manage partnerships and grant deliverables, work closely with the Directors to sustain, expand, and enhance literacy programs and raise awareness in local communities and among strategic partners. 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of Master's Degree in or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt, grade L. Compensation for this grade ranges from $62,630  to $X93,950 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
