Job Summary

The Drexel Advanced Infrastructure Materials (AIM) Laboratory is seeking for an outstanding candidate for a part-time research scientist position in the area of developing multifunctional polymeric fiber with microbial induced calcite precipitation functionality for concrete application. The successful candidate will work in the group of Professor Farnam in a strong collaborative environment in the departments of Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

More information about the Drexel AIM lab can be found at: https://research.coe.drexel.edu/caee/aim/. The selected candidate will be actively involved in performing part-time research on assigned research task and discovering the marketability of multifunctional polymeric fiber.

Essential Functions

  • Performing part-time research on assigned research task.
  • Discovering the marketability of multifunctional polymeric fiber.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of PhD or Doctorate in Civil or materials engineering
  • Minimum of 0-1 year of experience. 
  • Strong expertise in performing research, conducting customer discovery interviews, presentations skills and writing papers or technical reports.

Additional Information
This is a Part-Time temporary position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
