Job Summary
The Department of Microbiology and Immunology is hiring a part time Research Assistant.
Essential Functions
- We are seeking a self-motivated, diligent, and well-organized candidate with a MS in Immunology or related discipline to join our dynamic research team to investigate dendritic cell biology and immunotherapeutic potential against human chronic viral infections and neuroinflammatory diseases.
- Applicants should have a strong background and basic technical skills in cell biology, molecular biology and immunology with a keen interest in learning and applying new skills to advance ongoing programs.
- Key Skills and Responsibilities include:
- Competency and proficiency in mammalian cell culture and immune assays, Protein biochemistry and/or, Molecular Biology.
- Understanding and experience in the area of inflammation would be a plus.
- Working knowledge and experience in maintaining day-to-day laboratory operation and upkeep.
- Handle reagent orders and maintain records routinely. Outstanding personal initiative and communication skills (oral and written English).
- Assisting lab personnel and the PI writing papers and/or scientific projects.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Master's Degree in Immunology or related or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Additional Information
This position is classified as Non-Exempt, grade F. Compensation for this grade ranges from $ 14.10 to $21.15 per hour. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
