Job Summary

The Center for Hunger-Free Communities is seeking part-time Program Facilitator(s) to support the Building Wealth and Health Network Program on a Per Diem basis. Qualified candidate(s) will be highly motivated, flexible, caring individuals with a desire to learn all aspects of the Network Program, and a willingness to use those skills to assist the Network in an “on-call” capacity. Candidate(s) will be trained in the Network program curriculum and facilitation style and may support full cohort activities.

Essential Functions

  • Attend Network classes and assist coaches in facilitating. Candidate may assist in individual class sessions as needed or may be asked to support the conduct of a full program cohort of sixteen class sessions.
  • Full cohorts presently meet four days a week for 2.5 hours each day for four weeks.
  • The Program Facilitator may participate in planning meetings, prep work, and other documentation and administrative activities to support the program.
  • Help recruit new members for participation in advocacy/community engagement programming.
  • Represent the Network at community events, meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Assist in the creation and publication of materials for events.
  • Strategize about new ways to grow the membership of the program.
  • Attend trainings as identified by Center staff and member interests/needs.

Required Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of experience in a social service setting required. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Willingness and desire to attain the skills needed to be a Network coach
  • Flexibility in schedule.
  • Proficient computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). In addition, candidate must support program activities online through remote videoconference programs. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in working to end poverty and to overcome trauma.
  • Motivation to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good writing skills.
  • Experience working with people of varying literacy skills and diverse backgrounds.
  • Flexibility and sense of humor.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • First-hand experience or knowledge of the Network program a plus.

  • Typically standing, walking.

  • Position is based in Philadelphia and may include virtual/remote work.

Additional Information

This is a part time, Per Diem position classified as non-exempt.  The pay offered is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
