Job Summary 

Highly visible position for the recruitment of qualified and diverse undergraduate and graduate students for the College of Arts and Sciences (CoAS) to meet enrollment goals. Provide planning and logistical support to the Director of Recruitment and Enrollment and recruitment team, in the development and implementation of CoAS recruiting initiatives for multiple admit cycles at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with a particular focus on prospective and admitted student events. Represent the College to all prospective students and academic partners both on campus and off, by running engagements, conducting outreach, traveling to events, or running virtual events, answering questions regarding programs, and assisting in developing marketing with the Director of Recruitment and Enrollment and CoAS Marketing. Recruitment specialists troubleshoot the admission funnels for yield and enrollment.

Recruitment specialists will review completed graduate application files during peak times of year, and render admissions decisions in collaboration with the faculty, and Drexel’s Office of Enrollment Management (EMSS). The position requires solid planning, collaboration, and management skills as well as the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.

This role is key to the College’s recruitment efforts in building relationships with prospective students and guiding them to the appropriate resources to facilitate enrollment at Drexel University.

Essential Functions 

  • Assist the Director of Recruitment and Enrollment in developing, documenting, and updating plans tied to college strategies, including but not limited to diversity, equity, and inclusion, first generation students, Women in STEM, High School Outreach, Dean’s Student Advisory Board, College Ambassador Program, domestic and international students, transfer students, and special interest groups like corporate partner cohorts.
  • Provide customer service to all CoAS undergraduate and graduate students, corporate partner cohorts, and international students.
  • Assist in implementing CoAS virtual and face-to-face recruitment, yield, and anti-melt events.
  • Manage COAS class visit program in addition to other traditional and innovative recruitment tactics.
  • Assist in implementing scheduled outreach to specific CoAS applicant populations.
  • Develop strong relationships with college academic programs and faculty in order to advise prospective students on the various degree programs, admission requirements, and application processes.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of college programs, processes, and services in order to effectively guide prospective students through the enrollment process.
  • Respond to student inquiries via phone and/or email.
  • Assist in implementing and running CoAS Undergraduate, Transfer, and Graduate Onboarding events.
  • Organize and maintain event operations calendar.
  • Assist in planning, hiring, and training to CoAS Dean’s Student Advisory Board and Student Ambassadors. Coordinate and oversee compliance. Provide performance feedback.
  • Assist and oversee Undergraduate and Graduate onboarding and engagement platforms. Assists in data audits and cultivation of CoAS recruiting efforts, tied to university methods (Salesforce. Banner, Slate, Tableau, etc.) Provide analysis of application progression each admit cycle and enrollment trends related to programs.
  • Ability to travel to attend conferences/trade shows/recruitment events off campus a plus.
  • Must be available nights and weekends for virtual and on-campus events.
  • Aid CoAS Marketing and Communications team in creating promotional materials and copy that generate interest in CoAS programs.
  • Assist in coordinating a deploying CoAS yield conversion strategy with academic partners.
  • Coordinate COAS Summer Institute initiatives.
  • Serve on CoAS and University committees as directed.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years in admissions, enrollment, or recruitment.
  • Proven planning ability – must be detailed oriented.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with groups and individuals, and deal with peers, the public and the community in a positive, empathetic, and professional manner
  • Ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds, life experiences and abilities, including prospective students, community members, students, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong ability to manage time, prioritize work, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willing to learn and work with various technologies.
  • Microsoft Office experience required.
  • General experience in admissions, recruitment, or related area
  • Ability to follow established procedures and work independently and within a team to accomplish those procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to manage a flexible work schedule with self-discipline, including travel, various hours and possible weekends/evenings, as well as workdays at other college locations

Additional Information 

This position is classified as an Exempt with a grade of I $ 41,120.00 - 61,680.00 The offered pay is dependent upon internal equity and the successful candidate’s competencies, education, and experience.
