Job Summary

Drexel University's Weight, Eating, and Lifestyle Science (WELL) Center (drexel.edu/wellcenter) is seeking a temporary employee to serve as Interim Operations Manager. The Temp will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the Center including processing new job positions and new hires, processing contracts with vendors, making purchases, tracking expenditures, processing reimbursement requests, as well as administratively supporting the WELL Clinic.  Key duties are outlined below.

Background: The WELL Center is an interdisciplinary clinical research center with a mission to develop, test and disseminate new behavioral and technological solutions to the problems of obesity, poor diet, sedentariness, and disordered eating. The Center includes the newly- developed WELL Clinic, which provides treatment for obesity, eating disorders, and related conditions.

Essential Functions

  • Make necessary purchases, and reconcile purchases to appropriate financial account
  • Process purchase orders, check requests, travel expense reports, reimbursements, transaction corrections, cash receipts, funding transfers, and department service charges
  • Track expenditures
  • Process job postings and hires
  • Administrate new and ongoing contracts with vendors that serve the Center and its research projects
  • Submit maintenance requests and follow up on the status of maintenance projects
  • Check and respond to central email and voicemail messages
  • Assist WELL Clinic director with billing, tracking and patient communications
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in management/administration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Management/ Administration Experience in a University Research Center
  • Knowledge of National Institutes of Health grant procedures

Physical Demands

  • Typically sitting at a desk/table
