Job Summary

Drexel University seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position within the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the Assistant Professor level effective Spring 2023. We are searching for a collaborative faculty member with research experience in Clinical Psychology. The specific area of investigation is health psychology. The successful candidate will serve as a core member of the Clinical Psychology program and is expected to maintain a program of scholarly research, seek external funding, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and supervise graduate student research.

The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences ( offers a B.S. in Psychology and a Neuroscience minor and is home to vibrant Ph.D. programs in Applied Cognitive and Brain Sciences (ACBS), Clinical Psychology, and Psychology and Law (JD/PhD), as well as a Master of Science (MS) program for students who wish to pursue advanced education in scientific psychology and research methods. The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences provides ample opportunities and facilities for research, including collaboration with faculty across various colleges at Drexel University and the College of Medicine. Drexel University is an urban research university that is classified by the Carnegie Foundation as an R1—very high research activity university. Of special interest are candidates who can further the University’s efforts to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Essential Functions

  • Building a successful and well-funded research program that involves graduate and undergraduate student education.
  • Teaching psychology courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Serving on committees at the department, college, and university levels. 
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Science, or other closely related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct productive research in her/his field.
  • Commitment to teaching and service.
